We will discuss the importance of Intellectual property. In a day and age where the values of assets have transitioned to Intangible Assets, it is more crucial to understand and be aware of what how you can and should protect your intellectual properties. Briefly, you will learn about how many IPs are there, What are the Types of IP, Risks and Exposure and Importance of IP protection.

Munirah has been practising as a corporate commercial lawyer with particular focus on intellectual property since 2009.
She chambered and practised for almost 6 years in an international corporate commercial firm in the Golden Triangle of KL at Messrs Azmi & Associates.
She then took the opportunity of setting up a new Intellectual Property Department in a rapid growing firm of Tan Norizan & Associates.
In 2019, Munirah took a break to discover Germany and learn German, while doing the Masters in International and European law programme, specialising in international dispute resolution and foreign trade and investment.
As an advocate of intellectual property and the fairly new filed of intellectual property valuation, she has often been involved in talks, webinars, seminars and programmes either as organiser of a speaker to spread the awareness and highlight the importance of protection of IPs especially in this day and age.
Munirah has been involved in various transactions relating to intellectual properties and information technology over the years, from initial conception (research and development) to commercialization.
Apart from her involvement in intellectual property and legal matters, she has been involved in various NGOs including as an Advisory Board Member of Girls in Tech Malaysia, a global NGO, for the Malaysian Chapter from 2016 – 2018.
After returning from her recent studies Germany, she has been largely involved in Good Regulatory Practice exercises in Malaysia and has been certified as a Regulatory Impact Analysis (RIA) trainer by Malaysia Productivity Corporation.
Munirah is a currently committee member of the Property Surveying Division as well as the inaugural Intangible Assets Committee of the Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia. She is also a member of the Malaysian Intellectual Property Association of Malaysia.
